The Charleston House is not required to offer any handicap accessible accommodations since the establishment is located within a facility that contains not more than five rooms for rent or hire, and the proprietor of the establishment occupies that as the proprietor's residence. 

Please note that the Charleston House is not required to abide by the accessible accommodation. We are thankful that an accessible ramp is located on the back of the Charleston House. The House Mother's Suite has multiple grab bars throughout the bathroom and the walk-in shower with a drop-down shower bench. Please note that with the house's character, the doorways are not all the exact dimensions, and some floors are uneven when navigating from room to room. 

Section 3-7-2-A-3 of the Charleston City Code states: the operator of a bed and breakfast shall be present on the premises during the night hours of operation. Therefore, since the proprietor will occupy the structure as the residence of such proprietor during night hours of operations, the structure shall not be considered lodging as it relates to the IAC.

The House Mother's Suite is located on the first floor. All other rooms are on the second floor, requiring guests to take 21 steps to access their rooms. To gain access to the Charleston House, the front porch has a 3-step entrance. There is an accessibility ramp located in the back of the Charleston House. 

 We are committed to doing whatever we reasonably can to make our property accessible; therefore, we have added the following accessible features:

• The House Mother's Suite has a walk-in shower, a drop-down shower bench, and a shower curtain for easy mobility. 
• All other rooms are walk-in showers with a glass enclosure. 
• We are always happy to carry luggage while you stay at the Charleston House.
